Can you really understand manufacturing if you haven't worked in an automotive assembly plant? Founder JP Roman has (Renault Douai), and this experience has been a precious guidance throughout his career. He also worked at a Tier 1 supplier (Faurecia, now Forvia) and his later experience in the German machine vision industry found many applications in automotive manufacturing.
Working with Philips in the early 2000's, JP Roman participated in the surge of mobile phones and connected home entertainment. In his later career in the computer vision industry, he gained a thorough knowledge of digital image acquisition, embedded computing and connectivity standards. Electronics manufacturing such as wafer inspection or PCB production is also a key application area of machine vision.
With 15 years experience in the machine vision industry (Allied Vision, Vision Markets), we have a deep understanding of factory automation in any application area, whether in automotive, electronics, food and beverages, or any other manufacturing industy. And unlike many marketing people, we've been on the factory floor many times and actually worked on the production line!
Our comprehensive experience in the computer vision industry led us to learn about many medical or life science applications, for example ophthalmological diagnostics, orthopedics, microscopy, etc. Machine vision is also an essential technology for the quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry. This gave us insights into specific processes or regulatory aspects of this industry (e.g. FDA approval).
Machine learning and deep learning are major trends in the computer vision industry. Working with AI companies such as Landing AI or Eigen Innovations, we have not yet become AI experts, but we do understand the principles of machine learning, model training and model deployment beyond the fantasies of the Terminator.
As a marketing person, you always work with printers and get to know their processes. But our experience of the printing industry is much more deeply rooted than that. JP Roman actually worked at a major gravure printing company (Prinovis). He enjoyed comprehensive training, managed printing projects with high color fidelity requirements for the fashion industry and even worked on the printing machine himself.
Smart city applications such as traffic monitoring, automatic tolling systems etc. are a significant application market for computer vision technology. We created content such as application case studies and developed campaigns for machine vision cameras in ITS applications (Intelligent Transportation Systems) for camera manufacturer Allied Vision.
Is your industry not listed here? Chances are high that we did have touchpoints with it. But even if it is not the case, we love to learn about new technologies!
